Case Study

Occurrence of lead mineralization was established in an area of about 62,500 sq. m around   DAgraharam village, Badvel Taluq, Cuddapah district, Andhra Pradesh. A few tones of ore was already mined in this area through an open pit. Geological mapping of the area to a scale of 1:1000 revealed that lead occurs at the contact zones of dolomites along with quartz reefs in the form of stringenets, pockets and small lumps within the quartz veins. In order to delineate potential lead mineralized zones in an area IGIS has conducted integrated geophysical surveys comprising SP, Resistivity, gravity, magnetic and Induced Polarization investigations. However, only SP, Resistivity and gravity surveys showed the anomalies over the lead mineralized zones. The combined anomaly map of these three individual anomalies is shown in the figure below, which clearly shows two distinct mineralized zones trending NW to SE. The existing workings have corroborated these findings.
