Case StuDY

IGIS has conducted Resistivity surveys along a proposed canal alignment of Srisailam Left Bank Canal to study the nature of subsurface formation up to a depth of 16m for planning the excavation operations. The following figure shows the result of Resistivity survey along the canal alignment from 1800m to 2070m. Red colored zone indicate the hard rock, which requires blasting for excavation. Blue colored zone indicate fractured rock, which may or may not require blasting and all other zones can be excavated without blasting.

Similar studies can be carried out for highways for identification of nearby shallow bedrock areas to use the rock as construction material.
